Sturgis rebuilds after severe flooding

STURGIS, S.D. — The City of Sturgis is working on rebuilding several bridges after severe flooding swept through last month.

The city park was littered with debris, homes were flooded, and two bridges experienced significant damage. As of now, crews are working on rebuilding the bridge that leads from one side of the city park to the other.

Within the month they have already rebuilt and opened the bridge off Lazelle and Sly Street.

Most of the city has recovered but there are still a few roads, bridges, and parks that are off-limits. Crews are working daily to restore what is left of the damage.
