Sturgis native falls in Olympics bronze medal battle

TOKYO — Sturgis native Paige McPherson, competing in her third Olympics for Taekwondo, has lost the bronze medal battle in Tokyo.

She lost her fight in the women’s 67kg against Egypt’s Hedaya Wahba on Monday morning.

McPherson previously beat Azerbaijan’s Farida Azizova and Nur Tatar of Turkey.
