Sturgis Ambulance Service receives the Pediatric Readiness Award

STURGIS, S.D. – On Tuesday, Sturgis Ambulance Service received the Pediatric Readiness Award, for their commitment to top-notch pediatric care.

Pediatric calls make up 13 percent of all EMS calls. Each ambulance with Sturgis Ambulance is equipped with a child medical bag.

The bag contains all the proper tools and equipment they need for children of all sizes and weights.

Sturgis Ambulance is one of four ambulances in the entire state considered to be pediatric ready, which means that they have special tools making their pediatric service more efficient.

Since receiving the child medical bag, Sturgis Ambulance says they have been able to better tend to their patients. Making the process a lot less stressful for the EMS crew and the family in need.
