Stuntman soars over Main Street to kick off Sturgis Rally

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Each year the rally kicks off with something spectacular. This year, the went all out, hiring a stuntman. Cole freeman is a stuntman from Saint Louis, Missouri.

He got the party started by riding up a ramp, soaring across Main Street, and landing on another ramp located on the other side of the street.

Freeman first started coming to the rally when he was just 12 years old he says it was an honor to be the opening act.

“I literally get to feel like a superhero and it’s amazing because I can inspire these kids to make better decisions, get off their games, and get off the couch and start riding motorcycles- you know like get out and do stuff,” said freeman.

The rally officially started on Friday, and it was one of the largest crowds they have ever drawn on opening day.
