Students and teachers team up to raise money for leukemia research

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Students at Valley View Elementary raised funds for leukemia research in a fun way on Friday.

One lucky teacher allowed the students to duct tape them to a wall, an offer the kids gladly accepted. Valley View Learning Lab teacher Michael Burke says, “It makes us all feel good when we know we’re doing something larger than ourselves.”

Friday’s taping was the final event of a three week fundraising effort on behalf of both students and teachers. The school was able to raise over $1,000 for blood cancer research.
