STM students donate to Make-A-Wish
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Over the past four years, St. Thomas More has hosted a variety of fundraisers from football theme nights to jeans day donations days to raise money for the cancer center, hospice house, and now Make-A-Wish. The donations have exceeded $20,000 over the years and have impacted hundreds.
Throughout the school year, students raised money and on Tuesday, the St. Thomas More religion classes presented a check to the Make-A-Wish South Dakota chapter for $4,000.
Student organizers say a fellow student who received a make a wish trip last year inspired the donation.
Alexis Collins, a student organizer, says, “It feels really good to be a part of something that is greater than ourselves, and in the past four years that is something that I have definitely learned at STM is putting others before yourself no matter what it is.”
