Stevens softball defeats Sturgis for second time this season

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Stevens and Sturgis squared off on Monday night for the second time this season in high school softball.

The raiders won the first meeting 6-1, thanks to four RBIs by Taylor McSherry.

The Scoopers were hoping for a different outcome on Monday but things didn’t exactly go according to plan.

Stevens jumped out an early lead and the Raiders went on to beat the Scoopers 8-3.

The Raiders were led by Raleigh Lunderman who had three hits and two RBIs.

Meanwhile, Darcy Geersen pitched four innings and finished with three strike outs for Stevens.

Kaitlyn Roberts started on the mound for Sturgis and had one strike out in five innings of work.

Stevens improves to 10-5 on the season, while Sturgis falls to 6-9.
