Steelheads shut out the Rush to wrap up 6-game series

RAPID CITY, S.D.  –  The Idaho Steelheads built a three-goal lead through the first 20 minutes of play on the strength of three different scorers and the Steelheads shut out the Rapid City Rush on Saturday night 6-0.

Idaho took full advantage of the power play as the Steelheads scored goals on all four opportunities.

Kyle Schempp led the Steelheads with two goals while Kale Kessy added one goal and one assist. Tomas Sholl also had 41 saves for Idaho.

Michael Bitzer, making his first start since November 16 in Boise, set aside 21 of 26 shots in the loss and falls to 3-3-0-1 on the season.

The Rush continue their six-game home-stand by hosting the Utah Grizzlies on November 28, 30 and December 1.

The Grizzlies, who are currently riding a four-game winning streak, lead the Mountain Division with 27 points. The Rush are sitting in fifth place in the division with 19 points.
