State Volleyball Roundup: Hill City finishes sixth at state

SF O'Gorman, SF Christian and Warner capture state titles

RAPID CITY, S.D. – After suffering a disappointing loss in the opening round of the State ‘A’ Volleyball Tournament, the Hill City Rangers bounced back on Friday and defeated Parkston in four sets.

The Rangers closed out the tournament on Saturday by playing Elkton-Lake Benton in the consolation championship match.

The Lady Elks won the first set and went on to beat the Rangers, 3 sets to 1.

The set scores were 25-21, 22-25, 25-21 and 26-24.

Whitney Edwards led Hill City with 12 kills. The senior finished with 18 kills for the tournament.

Maggie Taylor, Karsen Kirsch, Marie Peckosh and Abby Siemonsma each had 7 kills for the Rangers.

The Rangers finish the season with a record of 27-9.
