State Volleyball: RC Stevens advances to state finals for second straight year
Faith falls to Northwestern in State B semifinals
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Rapid City Stevens opened the State ‘AA’ Volleyball Tournament on Thursday with a convincing win over the Brookings Bobcats.
The Raiders moved one step closer to winning their first state volleyball title since 2007.
Stevens returned to the court on Friday to face Watertown in the championship semifinals.
The Raiders defeated the Arrows by scores of 25-20, 31-29, 27-29 and 25-16. Kyah Watson led the way offensively with 16 kills followed by Elizabeth Schaefer and Carly Buehner with 13 each.
Stevens will face Sioux Falls Washington in the state championship match on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Washington handed the Raiders their only loss of the season. The Warriors defeated the Raiders in straight sets back on Sept. 15.
