State Railroad Museum offers up weekend, Mother’s Day fun

The admission-free event wraps up Sunday with officials inviting families to enjoy a day and even a train ride with family.

“A lot of the parents have in one form or another worked for the railroads over the years,” Curator Rick Mills said. “So it’s fun to have those folks in, but also it’s a neat way that we can bring families together when they are here in Hill City.”

The train departs at 11:30, but visitors interested in taking a ride should arrive early.

The 1880 Train will begin its daily schedule on in three weeks on May 21.
