State Girls Basketball Day 2: RC Stevens to play for state title

St. Thomas More advances to the State 'A' championship game with a a win over Wagner

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Stevens is heading back to the State AA girls basketball finals for the second year in a row.

The Raiders defeated Sioux Falls Jefferson on Friday in the semifinals, 54-43.

Bailey Sobczak led Stevens with 17 points and seven rebounds.

Jayda McNabb finished with 12 points followed by Taaliyah Porter with nine points.

The Raiders will square off against No. 2 Sioux Falls O’Gorman in the championship game on Saturday at 7:45 p.m.

State ‘A’ Girls Basketball Tournament

St. Thomas More also punched a ticket in the State ‘A’ championship game for the first time since 2018.

The Cavaliers shocked No. 1 Wagner in the semifinals, 48-35.

STM will play No. 3 Hamlin in the finals on Saturday at 6:45 p.m.
