State Boys Basketball Recap: STM advances to semifinals with win over Lakota Tech
RAPID CITY, S.D. – The St. Thomas More Cavaliers are back in the State ‘A’ boys basketball tournament for the fourth year in a row.
This year, the Cavaliers are hoping to win their first title since 2012.
No. 2 STM squared off against Lakota Tech Thursday in the opening round.
The Cavaliers pulled away in the second half to beat the Tatanka, 63-53.
Cade Kandolin led STM with 24 points followed by Caleb Hollenbeck with 18 points.
Meanwhile, Lakota Tech was led by Jordan Whirlwind Horse with 18 points.
The Cavaliers advance to the semifinals on Friday where they will face No. 6 Sioux Valley.
The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:45 p.m at the Summit Arena in Rapid City.
