STATE BASKETBALL: RC Stevens advances to ‘AA’ Final, STM falls to Aberdeen Roncalli in semis

The state girls basketball tournaments continued on Friday with the championship and consolation semifinals.

Rapid City Stevens is back in the Class AA championship game for the first time since 2010.

The Raiders defeated Brandon Valley in the semifinals, 51-45.

Jayda Mcnabb led Stevens with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Stevens will play No. 1 Sioux Falls Washington in the finals on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. MT

 

Class A

Aberdeen Roncalli upset No. 1 St. Thomas More on Friday in the Class A semifinals.

Olivia Hanson knocked down two free throws with one second remaining to secure the win for Aberdeen Roncalli, 36-35.

Haleigh Timmer paced STM with 27 points.

St. Thomas More will play Winner on Saturday at 4 p.m. MT in the third place game.

 

Class B

Maleighya Estes hit a last second jump shot to lead White River past Corsica-Stickney, 52-50 in the Class B semifinals.

Estes finished with game with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Caelyn Valandra-Prue led the Tigers with 20 points.

The Tigers advance to the state championship game where they will play No. 1 Castlewood on Saturday at 6 p.m. MT.
