STARS animal shelter receives donation from Penn. Co. employees

HOT SPRINGS, S.D. — Pennington County workers donated hundreds of pounds of food and supplies to a no-kill shelter in need this week.

TJ Doreff of Pennington County Planning and Zoning headed the donations for Save Them All Rescue Service (STARS) in Hot Springs. Through the month of November, Pennington County was able to raise approximately 332 lbs of dog food, 63 lbs of cat food, nine boxes of dog treats, numerous toys, blankets, towels and cleaning supplies for the shelter.

STARS is a no-kill facility that runs solely on donations and the work of volunteers. Recently STARS has rescued 64 dogs and puppies along with 56 cats and kittens. To learn more about the STARS shelter, visit their website at starsnokill.com.
