Sports Roundup: STM baseball improves to .500 with win over Douglas
St. Thomas More played Douglas on Tuesday night in high school baseball.
It was a back-and-forth affair through the first three and a half innings. But St. Thomas More eventually prevailed, 14-7.
After the Cavaliers scored a run in the first inning, Douglas answered in the second inning when Bradley Anderson singled, scoring two runs.
The game was tied at seven in the top of the third inning. But STM scored seven unanswered runs in the final three frames to earn the win and improve to .500 on the season.
Andrew Smith was credited with the victory for St. Thomas More. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over three and two-thirds innings.
Meanwhile, Curtis Johnson took the loss for Douglas.
Ross Skinner and Kane Cavanaugh each had two hits to lead St. Thomas More.
The Patriots were led by Bradley Anderson and Noah Usera who each finished with two hits.
CORRECTION: In the video clip of the highlights, Bradley Anderson scored for Douglas in the fourth inning, not Bradley Cuggino.
