South Dakota State Poker Championships

Silverado-Franklin Hotel and Gaming Complex

DEADWOOD, S.D. — The South Dakota Poker Championship is here and going on all weekend at the Silverado-Franklin. The championship kicked off on Friday and will conclude on Sunday.

For poker players, Deadwood is known for its aces and eights, also known as the Deadman’s hand. The tournament started back in 2011 and has been a hit since then. The first championship started with just 82 entries and has grown into hundreds of players.

People from all over the state join in hopes of winning the jackpot and becoming the state’s champion. In the past, the prize pool has gone over $200,000 so the stakes are high.

You can check it out at the Silverado Gaming Complex in the Poker Room.
