South Dakota philanthropist donates $55 million to Children’s Home Society

SIOUX FALLS, SD — Billionaire and philanthropist T. Denny Sanford has made a donation of $55 million dollars to the Children’s Home Society.

Sanford, who has often been quoted as saying he would like to die broke, has given billions to different causes in the past, including a $10 million grant to Crazy Horse Memorial.

The Children’s Home Society says it will use the donation to expand its emergency shelter and invest in long-term staff recruitment and development.

Sanford’s contribution will be the largest one-time gift in CHS’s 125-year history.
