South Dakota COVID-19 case total rises to 187

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reporting 22 new COVID-19 cases Friday morning, bringing the state’s total to 187.

In Friday’s Dept. of Health website update, Meade County was listed as reporting one new case, bringing the county’s total to two with one recovered. The Department sent a correction updating the numbers to reflect no new cases in Meade County. Latest numbers indicate one case in Meade County and the person has since recovered from COVID-19.

Pennington County numbers hold steady at six with one recovered, Lawrence County reports nine with three recovered, and Fall River County’s lone COVID-19 case has since recovered.

Coronavirus cases continue to spike in Minnehaha County which accounts for 15 of Friday’s new cases. Other new cases can be found here.

The state’s total number of recovered patients rises to 69. The state Public Health Lab reports three tests are still pending but 4,593 have come back negative between the state’s lab and private labs.
