SoDak 16: Hot Springs boys pull off upset, advance to State ‘A’ basketball tournament
CHAMBERLAIN, S.D. – The Hot Springs Bison last qualified for the tate boys basketball tournament in 2019.
Before that, it was 1945.
But the Bison won’t have to wait another 74 years to make it back to the state tournament.
No. 11 Hot Springs upset No. 6 Winner Tuesday in the Class ‘A’ SoDak 16 by a final score of 47-43.
Junior Camron Maciejewski led the Bison with 18 points and five rebounds followed by Josh Kleinsasser with 13 points.
The Bison improve to 19-4 on the season.
Barring anymore upsets, Hot springs will more than likely be the eighth seed at the State ‘A’ tournament and will have to play top seed Dakota Valley in the opening round.
The State ‘A’ boys basketball tournament tips off March 16 at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls.
