Soccer Playoffs: Central girls defeats Stevens in overtime

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The state high school soccer playoffs finally resumed on Monday after a short delay due to last week’s winter storm.

Rapid City Central squared off against Stevens for the third time this season in the girls Class ‘AA’ quarterfinals.

It was another hard-fought battle on Monday with the Cobblers pulling out the win over the Raiders in overtime, 2-1.

Kazlyn Bachelor scored in the first half to give Central the lead at the break, 1-0.

However, Stevens had several chances to score in the second and junior Abbie Noga finally cashed in with the equalizer in the 74th minute.

The match eventually went into overtime and Sydney Pike’s goal in the 96th minute gave Central the win.

Central will now face top-seed Yankton at 4 p.m. on Thursday in the semifinals at the Crane Youngworth Field in Yankton.
