Sioux City Bandits hand the Rapid City Marshals their first loss of the season
RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Marshals opened the season on April 2 with a convincing win over the Topeka Tropics.
But on Saturday, the Marshals ran into a roadblock.
Rapid City hosted the top team in the Champions Indoor Football League, the Sioux City Bandits.
The Bandits jumped out to a fast start and defeated the Marshals, 45-28.
After falling behind 21-0 in the first quarter, the Marshals pulled to within 10 midway through the fourth quarter, 38-28.
But the Bandits scored in the final minutes to secure the win and improve to 3-0 on the season.
Rapid City falls to 1-1.
The Marshals travel to Gillette, Wyoming on Saturday, April 16 to play the Wyoming Mustangs.
Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
