Shots fired in downtown Rapid City [GALLERY]

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City police say a “shots fired” incident has ended with 12 individuals taken into custody.

The Rapid City Police Department responded to a report of shots fired on the 800 block of 5th Street around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Those detained were taken into custody after negotiations via text between the Special Response Team and some of the group who had entered a local residence.

Police have not yet confirmed whether any suspects were armed or the ages of those involved.
