Short pursuit ends near downtown Rapid City, five taken to the hospital

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A short pursuit ended with an accident just north of downtown Rapid City Tuesday evening. Police say, “it was fortunate that no one was seriously injured.”

A spokesperson for the Rapid City Police Department says officers tried to stop a vehicle going at a high-rated speed near 5th Street and Omaha Street. They say the vehicle kept going until it T-Boned another vehicle at the intersection of 5th Street and New York Street.

Five people were taken to the hospital with injuries police say are not life-threatening. No arrests have been made at this time.
