Sheriff looking for three suspects in Rapid Valley armed robbery


PENNINGTON COUNTY, S.D. – The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office is searching for three suspects wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a Rapid Valley gas station early Tuesday morning.

According to the PCSO, on Tuesday, April 28 at 4:55 a.m., three masked males entered the Corner Pantry gas station on East Highway 44 with one suspect holding a rifle.

They ordered the clerk to open the cash drawer and took an undisclosed amount of cash along with cigarettes and cigars. No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The individuals fled to a potentially light blue four-door passenger sedan similar to a Toyota Camry.

One male is described as wearing a black leather coat with black pants. A second male was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The third was in a black sweatshirt and black jeans. They were last seen running north-west away from the gas station.

Capt. Tony Harrison, Investigations Commander for PCSO said “We are going to work as much as we can today to identify these folks and or the vehicle. Because our first concern is the citizens of our county and of course the city we work in. We are working with the PD to do everything we can in the next several hours, hopefully we can get this resolved.”
