Sewer line rupture in downtown Rapid City affects traffic, water safety

RAPID CITY, SD — Authorities are warning commuters and residents about a sewer line break in downtown Rapid City.

The break is located in the alley between Seventh Street and Mount Rushmore Road, between Main Street and St. Joseph Street.

The sewer main line to the affected area begins at West Boulevard so businesses and residences between West Boulevard and Seventh along the Main Street and St. Joseph Street corridor are advised to restrict water use this morning

As city  crews work on the damaged sewer line, traffic will be closed on Seventh between Main and St. Joseph Streets through Thursday morning.
