Severe thunderstorm watch with tornado and hail potential issued across region

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued across parts of several states, including South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado until 11 p.m. this evening.

Scattered hail up to tennis ball sized is likely, and a few tornadoes are possible in some areas. Additionally, there’s potential for isolated wind gusts up to 70 mph.

In the Black Hills, there could be quarter sized hail or bigger, and wind gusts up to 58 mph or stronger.
