Severe thunderstorm watch issued for parts of South Dakota, Wyoming and Nebraska

UPDATE: 4:55 p.m. — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Campbell County, Wyoming.

Half dollar sized hail and heavy wind gusts are expected. The warning is in effect until 5:45 p.m.


RAPID CITY, S.D. — The region may be in for another afternoon and evening of harsh weather. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued to parts of South Dakota, Wyoming and Nebraska — with Rapid City and the Black Hills included.

Storms are expected to bring frequent lightning, with 70 mph wind gusts and lime sized hail possible.
