Severe Thunderstorm watch issued for Black Hills counties

BLACK HILLS, S.D. — A severe thunderstorm warning for Custer County, Oglala Lakota County and Pennington County is in effect until 9:00 p.m. MDT. AT 7:57 p.m. MDT, a severe thunderstorm warning was located near Black Gap or nine miles southeast of Rapid City and was traveling southeast at 40 MPH.

Tennis ball sized hail and 60 MPH wind gusts are hazards. People and animals outdoors will be injured.

Hail damage is expected to roofs, siding, windows and vehicles. Wind damage is expected to affect damage to roofs, siding and trees.

The thunderstorm was near Caputa around 8:05 p.m., MDT, Farmingdale at 8:15 p.m. MDT, Scenic around 8:45 p.m. MDT, and Sheep Mountain Table Around 8:50 p.m. MDT.

BLACK HILLS, S.D. — A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 11 p.m. Monday for the following counties:

Butte County, Harding County, Perkins County, Bennet County, Custer County, Jackson County, Oglala Lakota County, Fall River County, Haakon County, Pennington County, Lawrence County, Ziebach County and Meade County.

The same watch extends to three Wyoming counties including:

Campbell County, Crook County and Weston County.
