Seven new COVID-19 cases in west river, no new deaths
PIERRE, S.D. — The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota rose by 35 Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 7,063.
Per the South Dakota Department of Health, there are currently 903 active cases of coronavirus in the state. That number is up 34 from yesterday. A total of 6,063 people have recovered in the state, with one person recovering on Sunday.
Seven cases were reported west river – four in Pennington County, and one each in Meade County, Oglala Lakota County and one in Stanley County.
A total of 560 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Pennington County, while 409 have recovered. That leaves the number of active cases in Pennington County at 134.
The number of people that have been hospitalized from the virus is 59, up five from Saturday. 691 people have ever been hospitalized from COVID-19.
No new COVID-19 related deaths were reported Sunday, leaving the state’s total at 97.
