Senate committee unanimously approves hemp bill
PIERRE, S.D. — South Dakota’s hemp bill will be moving forward in the legislature.
A senate committee has unanimously approved the bill, which now goes to the senate floor. The next step would be the governor’s desk.
Kristi Noem vetoed a similar bill last year. This is day 26 of the legislature’s 37-day session.
Both houses are pushing toward cross-over day on Thursday, which is when bills have to move from the chamber of origin to the other house.
