Sen. Mike Rounds to be at Mount Rushmore for July 4th celebrations

MOUNT RUSHMORE, S.D. — Sen. Mike Rounds plans on being at Mount Rushmore Friday night, and says he will maintain safe health practices.

The senator says he will be wearing a mask at the event to be attended by 7,500 visitors.

While Gov. Kristi Noem has said social distancing will not be maintained at Friday’s event, Senator Rounds says healthy measures can still be taken in other ways.

Sen. John Thune and Congressman Dusty Johnson are also expected to be at Mount Rushmore on Friday.
