Semi wreck in Harding County causes chemical spill, road closure
BUFFALO, S.D. — A Friday morning semi wreck in Harding County blocked both lanes of traffic and caused the road to be flooded with flammable chemicals, according to a Facebook post from the Harding County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident on Highway 79 north of Ludlow Road required multiple personnel from outside agencies to be called in, including both Hazmat units from RCFD Station 6.

No injuries have been reported.
Harding County Sheriff’s Office officials say it will be several hours before the roadway is safely cleared. Drivers in the area are asked to seek an alternate route.
