Second Chance: Northern Lights could make appearance Thursday night

A quiet Wednesday evening left many disappointed, but thursday night could give us a second chance at a light show... if you're in the right spot
We have another shot at the northern lights tonight into Friday, on the heels of what many would describe as a disappointing Wednesday evening.
The bad news is if you’re in Rapid City or the Black Hills, we’re expecting mostly cloudy skies overnight – which obviously poses a problem.

The good news is if you’re feeling adventurous, you can travel North towards North Dakota and Southeastern Montana, where clouds are forecasted to clear for a short time.
Any burst of aurora activity should be relatively early in the evening, from sunset to about midnight.
Don’t be surprised if electronics and communications are interrupted during this time period – we are after all talking about an electromagnetic storm!
