Pennington County, SD — Searchers will be back out the first two weekends in April to look for the missing 9-year-old last seen two months ago on South Rockerville Road near the Black Hills Children’s Home.

The recovery efforts for Serenity Dennard will continue Saturday, April 6, with a team of about 30-40 people.

The recent improved weather conditions now provide for an effective and safe outdoors search for Serenity, however the ground search is just one aspect of the investigation. Authorities say 335 people have been interviewed, including potential out-of-state sightings. Five search warrants have been issued.

Serenity is a Caucasian female, 4 foot 7 inches, 96 pounds, with blue eyes and shoulder length dark blonde hair. She was last seen wearing only a long sleeved grey shirt with flowers, blue jeans and black snow boots. She was not dressed for the cold weather.

The Sheriff’s Office is still encouraging anyone living in the Rockerville, Foster Gulch and Highway 16 area to search their property and outbuildings. Anyone with tips regarding the whereabouts of Serenity, should contact the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office at (605) 394-6115.
