SDDOT advises No Travel Overnight in Western South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Transportation is advising no travel on many highways in western South Dakota for Sunday evening, March 14, 2021, through the overnight into Monday, March 15, 2021.

This includes Interstate 90 west of Chamberlain to Rapid City. Heavy wet snow and gusting winds are making travel difficult to near impossible in some areas throughout western South Dakota.

The snow and winds are anticipated to sustain through the overnight hours. SDDOT plows will suspend operation later this evening.

Please be aware of the potential for accumulating and drifting snow.

SDDOT plow operations will resume at 5 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2021, as weather conditions allow.
