SDDOH: 81 total new COVID-19 cases, nine deaths reported statewide

PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 81 new confirmed and probable cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 236,432.

Nine new deaths were reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,843.

32 total confirmed and probable cases were reported West River:14 in Pennington County, five each in Oglala Lakota County and Todd Counties, two each in Bennett, Custer and Mad Counties and one each in Butte and Dewey Counties.

In South Dakota, 3,355 cases are considered active, that number is down from 3,654 on Monday.

An additional 371 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 230,234.


Data are provisional and subject to change. Data are updated daily (Monday – Friday) by about 12:00 p.m. and include cases reported through 1:00 p.m. the previous day. Data from Saturday and Sunday will be included in Tuesday’s update.
