SDDOH: 51 total new COVID-19 cases, four deaths reported statewide

PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 51 new confirmed and probable cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 236,552.

Four new deaths were reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,848.

15 total confirmed and probable cases were reported West River: five in Pennington County, four each in Meade and Oglala Lakota Counties and one each in Corson and Stanley Counties.

In South Dakota, 3,117 cases are considered active, that number is down from 3,238 on Wednesday.

An additional 166 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 230,587.


Data are provisional and subject to change. Data are updated daily (Monday – Friday) by about 12:00 p.m. and include cases reported through 1:00 p.m. the previous day. Data from Saturday and Sunday will be included in Tuesday’s update.
