SDDOH: 393 total new COVID-19 cases, eight deaths reported statewide

PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 393 new confirmed and probable cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 234,084.

Eight new deaths were reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,766.

238 total confirmed and probable cases were reported West River: 120 in Dewey County, 33 in Pennington County, 26 in Ziebach County, nine each in Lawrence, Meade and Oglala Lakota Counties, eight in Todd County, six in Mellette County, three each in Corson and Custer Counties, two each in Butte, Fall River, Gregory, Lyman and Tripp Counties and one each in Bennett and Jackson Counties.

In South Dakota, 9,145 cases are considered active, that number is down from 9,771 on Wednesday.

An additional 1,010 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 222,173.


Data are provisional and subject to change. Data are updated daily (Monday – Friday) by about 12:00 p.m. and include cases reported through 1:00 p.m. the previous day. Data from Saturday and Sunday will be included in Tuesday’s update.
