SDDOH: 251 total new COVID-19 cases, 16 deaths reported statewide

PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 251 new confirmed and probable cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 233,692.

16 new deaths were reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,758.

101 total confirmed and probable cases were reported West River: 45 in Pennington County, 14 in Todd County, 13 in Lawrence County, eight each in Meade and Oglala Lakota Counties, four each in Butte, Corson and Fall River Counties, three in Dewey County, two each in Bennett, Custer, Gregory and Lyman Counties and one in Tripp County.

In South Dakota, 9,771 cases are considered active, that number is down from 11,283 on Tuesday.

An additional 4,145 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 221,163.


Data are provisional and subject to change. Data are updated daily (Monday – Friday) by about 12:00 p.m. and include cases reported through 1:00 p.m. the previous day. Data from Saturday and Sunday will be included in Tuesday’s update.
