SDDOH: 175 total new COVID-19 cases, three deaths reported statewide

PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 175 new confirmed and probable cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 236,056.

Three new deaths were reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,808.

41 total confirmed and probable cases were reported West River: 33 in Pennington County, six in Meade County, five each in Oglala Lakota, Todd and Tripp Counties, four in Lawrence County, two in Dewey County and one each in Bennett, Butte, Custer and Jackson Counties.

In South Dakota, 4,419 cases are considered active, that number is down from 5,075 on Monday.

An additional 2,155 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 228,829.


Data are provisional and subject to change. Data are updated daily (Monday – Friday) by about 12:00 p.m. and include cases reported through 1:00 p.m. the previous day. Data from Saturday and Sunday will be included in Tuesday’s update.
