SD Helpline Center hosts Spirit of Volunteerism Awards

RAPID CITY, S.D. — On Tuesday, the South Dakota Helpline Center hosted the seventh annual Spirit of Volunteerism Awards at the Pennington County Administration Building.

The event honors volunteers nominated by community organizations and citizens. 72 people, groups and businesses were recognized during the award’s breakfast.

The Black Hills program coordinator for the helpline center, Audrey Nordine, says nominees should be proud of their accomplishments due to the fact that they’re nominated by the community.

“Volunteers really do have a huge impact in our area – from the amount of money they give, the time that they give and it’s just a really nice time for that impact to be recognized,” Nordine said.
