SD Gov. proclaims Mental Health and Substance Use Recovery Month

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard has proclaimed September as Mental Health and Substance Use Recovery Month.

It is a time to recognize individuals in recovery and their families. In the past year, 25,054 people have received assistance through publicly funded behavioral health providers. "It is critical that people experiencing mental and/or substance use disorders receive the support they need," said Tiffany Wolfgang Division Director for Behavioral Health. "Prevention works and recovery is possible with access to behavioral health services and supports."
