SD Game Fish & Parks pushes to increase State Park fees in 2020
RAPID CITY, S.D. – Entrance and camping fees to South Dakota State Parks will likely cost more next year. The South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks Commission has approved the increases for 2020.
An annual State Park pass will increase by six dollars. A day pass will be eight dollars. Camping fees for prime and preferred sites will increase as well.
The Commission says revenue is down by $1.9 million compared to last year. It’s estimated that repairs to campsites, roads and boat ramps damaged by flooding will cost $8 million.
The fee increase still needs approval from the Legislature’s interim Rules Committee.
