SD DOH: Eight new COVID-19 cases in Pennington County, two in Meade County

PIERRE, S.D. – Monday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health show total of 5,034 cases have been confirmed in South Dakota, up 41 from Sunday.

15 of Monday’s new cases are West River – Eight in Pennington County, two in Meade County and five in Oglala Lakota County.

Across the state, 1,069 cases are considered active. That number is down from 1,094 on Sunday. An additional 66 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide total number of recovered to 3,903.

A total of 87 people are currently hospitalized in the state and a total of 435 people have ever been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the statewide total at 62. Five of those deaths have been recorded West River.
