SD DOH: 931 total new COVID-19 cases, nine deaths reported

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 682 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 140,379.

Nine new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,318.

212 confirmed cases were reported West River: 97 in Pennington County, 21 in Lawrence County, 16 each in Fall River and Meade Counties, 14 in Butte County, nine each in Perkins and Tripp Counties, eight in Todd County, six in Custer County, three each in Dewey, Lyman, Mellette and Stanley Counties and one each in Corson, Gregory and Jackson Counties.

14 probable cases were reported West River: 36 in Dewey County, 27 in Pennington County, seven in Lyman County, two each in Gregory, Stanley, Todd and Ziebach Counties and one in Butte County.

In South Dakota, 6,950 cases are considered active, that number is up from 6,865 on Friday.

An additional 837 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 154,453.
