SD DOH: 812 total new COVID-19 cases, four deaths reported

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 649 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 134,262.

Four new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,133.

287 confirmed cases were reported West River: 165 in Pennington County, 35 in Meade County, 24 in Lawrence County, 19 in Butte County, 13 in Custer County, 12 in Fall River County, seven in Gregory County, four in Todd County, two each in Bennett, Tripp, and Mellette Counties, and one each in Perkins and Jackson County.

58 probable cases were reported West River: 40 in Pennington County, five in Meade County, four in Todd County, two each in Harding and Jones Counties, and one each in Corson, Custer, Oglala Lakota, Mellette, and Gregory Counties.

In South Dakota, 7,600 cases are considered active, that number is up from 7,588 on Monday.

An additional 796 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 134,262.
