SD DOH: 783 total new COVID-19 cases statewide, 199 West River

PIERRE, S.D. — On Monday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 769 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 68,448.

14 of Monday’s 783 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the state death toll at 819.

199 confirmed cases were reported in West River: 81 in Pennington County, 32 in Lawrence County, 19 in Meade County, 12 each in Todd and Tripp Counties, 10 in Butte County, eight in Oglala Lakota County, seven in Perkins County, five in Lyman County, four in Gregory County, two each in Custer, Harding and Stanley Counties and one each in Bennett, Fall River and Jones Counties.

One probable case was reported West River in Oglala Lakota County.

In South Dakota, 17,350 cases are considered active, that number is up from 16,897 on Sunday. An additional 330 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 55,679.

582 people are currently hospitalized, with a total of 4,107 people have ever been hospitalized.
