SD DOH: 739 total new COVID-19 cases, one death reported statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 562 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 130,836.

One new death was reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,203.

240 confirmed cases were reported West River: 138 in Pennington County, 23 each in Lawrence and Meade Counties, 14 in Todd County, 12 in Butte County, 10 in Oglala Lakota County, five in Custer County, four in Fall River County, three in Tripp County, two each in Bennett and Dewey Counties and one each in Gregory, Lyman, Perkins and Stanley Counties.

67 probable cases were reported West River: 33 in Pennington County, 17 in Todd County, two each in Bennett, Butte, Custer, Meade, Stanley and Tripp Counties and one each in Gregory, Haakon, Lyman, Jones and Perkins Counties.

In South Dakota, 5,679 cases are considered active, that number is down from 5,819 on Monday.

An additional 877 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 143,206.
