SD DOH: 719 total new COVID-19 cases, eight deaths reported statewide

Mgn 1280x960 00325c00 AvgoaPIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update showed 566 new confirmed cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 134,226.

Eight new deaths were reported, bringing the state death toll to 2,249.

240 confirmed cases were reported West River: 106 in Pennington County, 33 in Meade County, 21 in Lawrence County, 14 in Butte County, 13 in Todd County, 10 in Oglala Lakota County, eight in Dewey County, seven each in Custer and Gregory Counties, four each in Fall River, Jackson and Tripp Counties, three in Ziebach County, two in Corson County and one each in Bennett, Lyman, Perkins and Stanley Counties.

35 probable cases were reported West River: 15 in Pennington County, seven in Meade County, six in Stanley County, three in Todd County, two in Bennett County and one each in Gregory and Lawrence Counties.

In South Dakota, 5,513 cases are considered active, that number is up from 5,483 on Friday.

An additional 680 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 147,841.
